Format
Call to Arms will feature three Age of Darkness games themed around a continuing narrative of the battles in the Caledonian Sector and the confrontation between the forces of the Imperium and the Traitorous legions.

Each Mission will give players an opportunity to gain Campaign Points (CP) for their faction.
At the beginning and end of each phase, factions will receive updates on campaign progress and may be assigned special missions that can be attempted to sway the outcome.

Players will be split into Loyalist and Traitor, so that each side has an equal number of players. The faction with the most CPs wins the day!

*some people may need to switch in order to be even, don’t worry! We know your true allegiance 😉

Forces

All Armies will be constructed at 2500 points using the army rules found within the Official Horus Heresy Age of Darkness Rule books.

This is a FRIENDLY campaign where thematic as armies will tell a compelling narrative on fantastic
terrain. There is no guarantee of balance and players should expect surprises throughout. As one of the
first of the convention, this event is focused on getting people warmed up in a low pressure environment
with options on how to play your games.

NOTES AND RESTRICTIONS
● At the writing of this packet, the only official rules available are the Liber Astartes, Liber
Hereticus, and Legacies of the Age of Darkness PDF.
● The Questoris Knights Crusade Army List may not be used in this event, though an allied
Questoris Knight detachment may be included. This allied detachment may not exceed 750
points. If you chose to include this detachment, no other options from the list above may be used (fortifications, relics or lords of war). NOTE This is subject to change as heresy 2.0 rules come out.

• As this event is open to players of all skill levels, and the fact that this is a new edition, No Lords of War or Primarchs are permitted to this event.

General Rules
Game results are determined by scoring primary and secondary objectives as given for each mission. Refer to each Scenario Result Sheet for how to calculate Victories, Draws and Defeats.
Scoring This event will use the Age of Darkness rules for scoring. This primarily means that units with the LINE type count as scoring.

Variable Game Length
All missions for this event will be 5 turns long. With a 6th turn if both time allows, and the players agree. The 6th turn will be on a dice roll of 4+

Falling Back
Units that fall back move directly towards their own table edge by the shortest route possible as
described Age of Darkness rulebook. Units that are falling back cannot control/deny objectives. Warlords that are falling back at the end of the game are NOT considered slain and do not fulfill the requirements of the Slay the Warlord Secondary Objective.

5 Minute Warning
Players should continue to start new game/player turns until the final five (5) minute warning. After the five (5) minute warning has been announced, NO additional game turns shall be started – there will be no exceptions! If the current game turn has not been completed when time has expired, the game will be afforded a grace period in order to finish out the current game turn. This grace period will extend into the break periods and should be reconciled as quickly as possible. The judges reserve the right to end any game that is taking too long to resolve.

Awards

There are no winners in this war nor in any other; do not arrive at this conflict expecting anything more than an honorable death.

All members of the winning faction will live to fight another day.

All armies painted to a high standard will be subject to immense praise and respect.

All players with a perfect sportsmanship score will be awarded with friendship and comradery.

Shiny trinkets will be handed out for deeds great and small. Arrive with no expectations and enjoy the event.

Hobby Appearance

Beautifully painted armies are an important component of our hobby and as such, all armies MUST be fully painted and be composed of Horus Heresy era models (e.g., Mark II-VII Power Armor variations) and/or appropriate conversions. Event organizers will be reasonable about interpreting this rule but do not show up with a standard Warhammer 40,000 Space Marine army and expect to play. All armies deemed exceptional by the event staff will add 10 Bonus Battle Points to their Faction’s Total. Superior equipment is vital to winning any war.

Sportsmanship
We are gathering with old and new friends to admire one anothers hobby work and tell stories with our toy soldiers. This is a FRIENDLY event and players are expected to abide by high standards of sportsmanship to ensure that everyone will have fun. A year from now, no one will remember who won or lost games, but everyone will remember their good opponents and their bad ones. We don’t anticipate many bad opponents.

Standard Force Construction

All Armies will be constructed using the army rules found within the Forge World Horus Heresy Books, Official FAQ’s, and Exemplary battles.

3rd party or fan-made supplements are not permitted at any events at this event.

Standard Materials
Each player must bring typed, printed copies of their army lists for the tournament staff and your
opponents. We suggest 5 copies of each army list. You must bring any rulebooks, dice, templates, and
markers you need to facilitate playing your army.
